Tony Jones is the hiring partner in Ross, Dixon & Bell, LLP’s Washington, DC office. He also is Coordinator of the office’s Community Service efforts.
Prior to joining RDB, Mr. Jones’s practice consisted of commercial litigation relating primarily to issues involving corporate transactions, antitrust issues and disability rights. He was part of a trial team representing a major international oil company that obtained a nearly $1 billion judgment in a case involving a failed merger, and then successfully defended that judgment on appeal. He also was actively involved in a number of suits concerning the accessibility of hotels and other places of public accommodation to persons with disabilities.
Since joining RDB, Mr. Jones’s practice has consisted primarily of litigation and counseling in the mass tort, environmental, and commercial general liability coverage areas. He has substantial experience in identifying and analyzing emerging liability trends, and he works with insurers to devise and implement strategies to limit their potential exposure to such claims. He has represented insurance carriers in state and federal litigation in jurisdictions including Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington, DC, and Florida. In addition, Mr. Jones has represented attorneys and accountants in professional liability matters, and practices general commercial litigation.
Mr. Jones attended Georgetown University Law Center where he graduated cum laude. While there he served as a Notes Editor for the Georgetown Law Journal, and represented indigent criminal defendants in the DC court system through the Georgetown Criminal Justice Clinic. Mr. Jones has served as a law clerk to The Honorable Robert Smith and The Honorable Stewart P. Davis.
