Sally Gere is a partner in Ross, Dixon & Bell, LLP’s Washington, DC office. She joined the firm in 1987, after serving in the United States Department of Justice for 12 years where she was Senior Trial counsel in the Civil Division and an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Ohio. While with the Justice Department, Ms. Gere represented the United States in a wide variety of litigation, at the trial and appellate levels, including constitutional challenges and medical malpractice, employment, and contract actions.

Ms. Gere continues her diverse litigation and counseling practice at RDB, where she represents a variety of individual associations and corporate clients in employment matters, civil rights, and commercial litigation. She also advises clients on professional conduct and ethics issues. Ms. Gere has extensive experience counseling associations and nonprofits concerning governance issues, certification and accreditation procedures, and human resources matters.

Ms. Gere served two terms as a Bar Examiner for the District of Columbia as a member of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals Committee on Admissions. She also has served as a member of a Hearing Committee on the Board of Professional Responsibility and chaired the United States District Court for the District of Columbia’s Advisory Committee on Pro Se Litigation. She teaches a year-long seminar on Civil Litigation as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center. Ms. Gere currently is a member of the United States District Court’s Lawyer Counseling Panel.

When not practicing law or teaching, Ms. Gere serves on boards that support DC youth – the Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital and the Abramson Foundation.

Ms. Gere serves as General Counsel to the Firm.
