Five RDB Partners Selected for Inclusion in Washington, DC Super Lawyers List

Washington, DC – March 21, 2008 Ross, Dixon & Bell, LLP is pleased to announce that five partners in its Washington, DC office have been named by the Washington, DC Super Lawyers® magazine as top attorneys in the area for 2008. Only five percent of Washington, DC area attorneys are named by Super Lawyers.
The Super Lawyers selection process is based on peer nominations, blue ribbon panel review, and independent research, and the final list is seen by more than 13 million readers across the nation. The Ross, Dixon & Bell, LLP partners named to the Super Lawyers list are as follows:
Leslie S. Ahari, selected for her work in the fields of Insurance Coverage and Business Litigation, has practiced with Ross, Dixon & Bell, LLP since 1990. She has 17 years of experience representing insurers in complex coverage claims involving directors and officers shareholder litigation, fiduciary liability, antitrust, bankers’ professional liability, insurance company errors and omissions, and insurance agent errors and omissions. She has represented insurers in coverage matters involving Enron, Adelphia, Freddie Mac, Refco, AOL Time Warner, AT&T, Sprint, Motorola, and USX Corporation. A magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Duke University, she received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
Wallace A. Christensen, selected for his work in the fields of Insurance Coverage and Business Litigation, has practiced with the firm since 1983. Recently named a Fellow to the American College of Trial Lawyers, Mr. Christensen has more than 30 years of experience handling sophisticated and complex commercial litigation in courts throughout the country. He has been retained by major corporations, numerous law firms, corporate executives, real estate developers, trade associations, and some of the nation’s largest insurance companies in disputes involving commercial contracts, business torts, trade secrets, non-compete clauses, employment practices, lender liability, securities law compliance, and insurance coverage issues. He has represented a number of professional athletes in several high-profile proceedings. He also has represented clients in connection with criminal investigations of business activities. Mr. Christensen graduated as valedictorian from Boston College and received his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
Gary V. Dixon is a founding member of the firm and was selected by Super Lawyers for his work in the field of Insurance Coverage. He is a recognized expert in matters pertaining to directors and officers liability insurance and other forms of professional liability coverage. He has represented insurers in thousands of matters pertaining to professional liability insurance during the past 30 years, including many of their highest profile and most significant matters. Mr. Dixon has litigated cases on behalf of insurers in trial and appellate courts throughout the country. He counsels insurance clients regularly with respect to claims and underwriting matters. Currently, he represents insurers in matters involving backdating stock options, subprime lending, private equity buyouts, ERISA stock drop cases, employment discrimination, insurance industry contingent commissions, criminal and regulatory investigations, and a variety of coverage litigation. He has represented insurers in connection with more than 500 securities class actions and hundreds of derivative actions, and he represents insurers in dozens of mediations each year. A magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Bucknell University, he received his J.D. from the University of Virginia, where he became a member of the Order of the Coif.
Elizabeth Sarah Gere was selected by Super Lawyers for her work in the fields of Employment & Labor, Civil Rights/First Amendment, and Business Litigation. She joined the firm in 1987, after serving in the United States Department of Justice for 12 years where she was Senior Trial counsel in the Civil Division and an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Ohio. An active member of the Washington, DC community and general counsel to RDB, Ms. Gere maintains a diverse litigation and counseling practice at the firm, where she represents a variety of individual associations and corporate clients in employment matters, civil rights, and commercial litigation. She also advises clients on professional conduct and ethics issues. Ms. Gere has extensive experience counseling associations and nonprofits concerning governance issues, certification and accreditation procedures, and human resources matters. She has been named twice (2004 and 2007) to the Washingtonian list of Top Lawyers. Ms. Gere graduated Phi Beta Kappa, with high honors, from Denison University, and received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School with honors.
John R. Gerstein, selected for his work in the fields of Business Litigation, Intellectual Property, and Professional Liability Defense, joined the firm at its inception in 1983. He has a diverse litigation practice in the areas of professional liability, insurance, toxic torts, antitrust, telecommunications, product liability, intellectual property, securities, commercial fraud, and breach of contract, among others. His clients in these areas range from major U.S. corporations to individuals in litigation throughout the United States. Mr. Gerstein also regularly represents law firms and accounting firms throughout the country in major litigation. Many of his cases involve large dollar figures in controversy and are on the forefront of emerging legal issues. He is known for his creative and aggressive litigation style and has enjoyed an extraordinary record of success in litigated matters. To date, Mr. Gerstein has been fortunate not to lose any case that he has tried, nor any appeal that he has argued. A Phi Beta Kappa and James B. Angell scholar, Mr. Gerstein received his undergraduate degree, with high distinction and honors, and his J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the University of Michigan.
