“Summary of Intellectual Property Law Basics” and Expanded Seminar, Motorcycle Industry Council’s Annual Meeting

Paul Gale presented “Summary of Intellectual Property Law Basics” at the Motorcycle Industry Council’s Annual Meeting on February 15, 2008 in Indianapolis. This presentation outlined the types of intellectual property, explained the differences between utility and design patents, and reviewed the steps involved in obtaining a patent. Those in attendance also learned how to obtain a trademark or service mark and the distinctions of trade dress, trade secrets, and copyrights. Finally, Mr. Gale discussed what steps a company can take to protect intellectual property in court, including injunctions and damages.
Following the Annual Meeting, Paul Gale, Stephen Stern, and Erik Pritchard presented an expanded seminar at the same location.
