Hallie Miller Fahey is a partner in Ross, Dixon & Bell, LLP’s Chicago office. Prior to joining the firm in 2001, Ms. Fahey was a partner in the Chicago firm of Meckler Bulger & Tilson and previously was associated with the Chicago office of Schiff Hardin, LLP.
Ms. Fahey received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, cum laude, from Butler University in 1987, and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Illinois in 1990. Ms. Fahey was a member of the University of Illinois Law Review and an editor with the Illinois Bar Journal.
Ms. Fahey has extensive experience in all aspects of civil and commercial litigation. Most recently, She has represented domestic insurers and the London Market in a variety of coverage litigation and coverage counseling matters, with a particular emphasis on long-term exposure, environmental, and mass tort matters, as well as coverage disputes involving coverage claims asserted under accountants malpractice policies. She also has counseled and defended design professionals and real estate professionals in litigation involving breach of contract, professional malpractice, and tort claims. In addition, Ms. Fahey has counseled and represented private and public employers against claims involving allegations of breach of contract and violations of Title VII and 28 U.S.C. §1983.
Ms. Fahey has appeared in state and federal courts in a large number of jurisdictions and has appeared before various state regulatory agencies. She also has participated in numerous mediations and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
Ms. Fahey is the former Co-Chair of Environmental Coverage Subcommittee of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Subcommittee of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. She has made presentations on coverage issues to several organizations, including the Defense Research Institute, the Young Lawyers Section of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Association of Defense Counsel, and the American Bar Association Insurance Coverage Committee. She also is co-author of the Interpleader chapters in the IICLE publications Illinois Civil Practice and Illinois Causes of Action - Elements, Forms and Winning Tips: Estate, Business & Non-Personal Injury Actions.
Ms. Fahey currently serves as chair of the firm’s pro bono committee.
