RDB partner Stephen Stern presented “Protecting Trade Secrets and Other Confidential Information” at the 2007 Virginia State SHRM Conference, October 3-5, in Arlington, VA. Most businesses possess trade secrets. Examples include new technology, product designs, customer lists and pricing plans. HR departments that partner with other departments play a vital role in protecting a company’s trade secrets and other confidential information. HR’s role starts with the hiring process, continues throughout the employment relationship and even carries on after the employment relationship terminates. This presentation addressed HR’s role in partnering with other departments to implement effective trade secret protection programs.
