David F. Cutter joined the Chicago office of Ross, Dixon & Bell, LLP in 2005 and focuses his practice on insurance coverage matters and commercial litigation.  His insurance experience includes bodily injury and property damage matters involving asbestos, environmental, mass tort and product claims, advertising and personal injury coverage, breach of policy conditions, contractual indemnification and associated coverage issues, additional insured and priority of coverages, fiduciary liability coverage, and reinsurance. With respect to commercial litigation, Mr. Cutter has handled a wide variety of matters involving media, communications, employment, breach of contract, and business tort disputes. Prior to joining RDB, Mr. Cutter practiced in Chicago and Washington, DC with the law firms of Winston & Strawn, Hogan & Hartson, and Mayer, Brown, Rowe, and Maw.  In addition, Mr. Cutter served as a federal trial court law clerk for the late Aubrey E. Robinson, Jr., of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.  

Mr. Cutter received his law degree in 1995 from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. During law school, he received several awards and scholarships for outstanding academic performance and graduated as his class salutatorian, magna cum laude. Mr. Cutter also served as a staff member and then as the Executive Editor for the Catholic University Law Review, in which he published an article regarding the United States Supreme Court’s constitutional treatment of punitive damages. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 1989.
