Why RDB

If you’re looking for an exciting place to practice law that offers great professional opportunities and a top-notch practice, a real devotion to developing your career, a friendly, supportive environment, and room enough to enjoy both your colleagues and your personal life, you might want to consider us.

Here are some things we think you should know about our firm right off the bat:
First, we have a national practice and a stellar reputation, but we’re relatively modest in size. This gives you the best of two worlds. On the one hand, we’re among the nation’s top litigation firms, and we also maintain a sophisticated corporate practice. We’re involved in some of the most challenging cases across America, and a number of the country’s best-known companies trust us to handle their legal concerns. Our work is demanding and complex, but also very rewarding.

On the other hand, we’re not a massive, twelve-hundred person outfit where you risk slipping through the cracks if you don’t meet the right partner the day you arrive. We have just over one hundred lawyers in our four offices, and our largest office, in Washington, has around sixty attorneys. The upshot is that you have the chance to be an important contributor the day you walk in the door -- and you’ll get as much responsibility as you can handle.

Finally, while you’re going to have the chance to take on real responsibility very quickly, we don’t expect you to know everything about being a first-rate lawyer when you join us -- so we’re going to give you plenty of opportunities for training and development. We’ll cover a lot of ground with you early on, from the way our firm works, to good practice when you’re taking a deposition, to background on the sort of complex substantive matters you’ll likely work on here. But we’ll also give you the opportunity to handle challenging work right away. And the faster you adapt to it, the more opportunities you’ll get.
