Friday
Noon. The morning is free for the summer associates, so I take advantage by sleeping in. I read over the deposition transcript of Dr. Carrera, the expert witness that I will be role playing in the mock trial for the junior associates tomorrow.
Afternoon
1:30 p.m. A couple of summer associates and I grab a burger.
3:00 p.m. I make my way back to the office to meet with the junior associates who will be defense counsel in the mock trial tomorrow. We strategize and prepare for my examination as the expert witness.
4:30 p.m. The firm is hosting an office happy hour in the conference room. The summer associates take advantage of the chance to have some drinks and meet the attorneys and staff in the DC office.
7:00 p.m. The firm happy hour is winding down, but why let all this great food and drink go to waste? A group of us decides to keep munching away over another game of poker.
10:00 p.m. We better get our rest. Tomorrow is the big trial and we need to be energized and ready to play our roles. We walk back to the hotel and part ways for the night.
10:30 p.m. Lights out.
