A Week in the Life of Nina Santiago
Thursday
Morning 8:35 a.m. I arrive at my desk, and send a few e-mails.
9:15 a.m. A few days ago Terri encouraged the summers in all RDB offices to fill out the American Lawyer’s Summer Associates Survey, so I work on submitting it online.
10:30 a.m. I work on entering my time for the first several days of the month into our time-entry system. When I first started working this summer, I found keeping track of my time in 6-minute increments to be quite challenging, but I now find it to be much more manageable. The system is closed for the first few days of the month, so I have a little catching up to do.
12:00 p.m. I review a 50-State Survey that three other summers and I are assigned to update for Paul Vitrano.
1:30 p.m. I go out to lunch with Richard Pratt, a partner here. We go to El Chalan, a Peruvian restaurant nearby.
Afternoon 2:30 p.m. I return to my desk, continue reviewing the 50-state survey, and start updating it by researching whether all of the cases in my assigned states, Rhode Island through Wyoming, are still good law.
3:10 p.m. An ice cream social started in the main conference room at 3:00 p.m., so a few of the summers and I head over there for a little while.
3:30 p.m. I return to my desk and get back to work on the survey.
6:15 p.m. I decide to call it a day and head home.
