Associate development is one of our highest priorities. It’s not just about learning how to take an effective deposition or manage client expectations, although those are certainly important skills.
We also think of associate development as a process of young lawyers forming relationships with their colleagues and a commitment to our firm as an institution. The more connected our associates feel to RDB, the more satisfied we believe they will be with their own careers -- and the more effective and productive attorneys they will be. We therefore put a premium on fostering an environment that enables our associates to grow as lawyers and as individuals within the context of our firm.
Our commitment to developing the talents of our lawyers also extends to a number of formal and informal training opportunities, designed to hone the skills of both our new associates as well as our more experienced lawyers. There are several key components of the RDB training program, including the New Associate Orientation Program, the In-House Trial Program, and our Professional Development and Advocacy Programs, as well as the day-to-day opportunities available to associates at our firm.
